With utmost pleasure, I would like to inform, that Dr Agnieszka Wojtkiewicz, adjunct in our lab, has won the competition for Development Grant of ICSC PAS.
In this two-year project entitled “Enzymatic synthesis of biologically active regioselectively dehydrogenated triterpenes and sterols” she will carry on research utilizing 3-ketosteroid dehydrogenase from Sterolibacterium denitrificans. The enzyme will be tested in 1,2-dehydrogenation of unconventional substrates to this enzyme class.
Agnieszka will be conducting this project with researchers from the Medical University in Poznań and the Technical University in Kraków. We hope, that results obtained during two years of research will significantly help Agnieszka in securing funding from external grant agencies.
