Thanks to the generosity of the National Center of Science we have a Ph.D. position waiting for candidates.
The project title is "Tungsten aldehyde oxidoreductase - a novel hydrogenase. Studies of reaction mechanism and potential biocatalytic applications" and it aims at elucidation of hydrogenase side-activity of tungsten aldehyde oxidoreductase by a combination of experimental and theoretical techniques as well as finding biotechnological application of the enzyme in cascade enzymatic synthesis of valuable organic compounds.

As a result, a PhD position in the KISD PhD School is available with the following topic of the research project:
The PhD student will gain experience in bacteria cultivation, expression of recombinant enzymes, protein isolation, enzyme assay conducted with liquid chromataography combined with mass spectrometry, as well as spectroscopic techniques (including rapid stopped-flow techniques).
A scientific stipend available is netto 3077 PLN at I-II year of PhD School, 4739 PLN at III-IV year and there is an NCN grant support for research and travel costs. There is also a possibility of obtaining an additional scientific stipend from the NCN grant. Also, the stipend can be extended by the NCN scientific stipend. We are looking for PhD candidates ready for international mobility and with good English skills, as the project is conducted in collaboration with international partners.
